Issue #26 - November 2019

Dear Readers,

Hope you all enjoyed October, and are happy to move into another Fall month. My husband says that November is a terrible month, but actually I really love it. For a few reasons: November is my birthday month, and after my birthday I get into Christmas full swing, and there is a wonderful Christmas craft fair (Circle Craft) in Vancouver at the beginning of November too, where I pretty much buy all my Christmas presents because the things there are so beautiful and plus I like supporting the crafters. I also love going to the Swedish Christmas Market too.

According to our builders, our house is on track, and maybe we can even sleep there this Christmas, plus put up a Christmas Tree! Amazing! We have a lot of animal visitors at our place already--and human ones too. Lots of friends have been coming up to see the progress.

Now, inside is all painted, and by mid to end of November siding should finally be finished. As of writing this post, we have a temporary wooden door, but maybe by the time this post goes out, our real door will have arrived:

Last month also marked the official launch party for Greystone Kids at Kidsbooks in Vancouver.
I am so honoured to be working with the whole Greystone team.

Here is a picture of Sara Gillingham (Creative Director) and me talking at the event. It was such a pleasure that Julie Flett, author and illustrator of Birdsong, and Chelsea O'Byrne, illustrator of Hello, Crow!, written by Candace Savage were able to be there, signing their books.

I'm really enjoying editing picture books--and I can't wait to edit and write in my library. Just have to wait a little bit longer.
